The Legact of Yue Qiao part II
A New Beginning
Yue Qiao had jsut had a meeting with her lord(Cao Cao) which vrought forth some very odd news. Cao Cao mentioned that there was another Yue under his service, a man named Yue Jin. Yue Qiao had heard stories from her father about a cousin of magnificent strength that he ahdnt seen since the day that Yue Qiao was born. She wondered if this Yue Jin was the cousin Nan had talked about. Yue Qiao took her sister and went to the hut in which Cao Cao said Jin was living in. They got to the door. Yue Qiao was getting ready to knock on the door when it opened suddenly. Come to find out, it was just Yue Ren opeing the door unannounced.
You can't just go around opening doors to peoples houses Ren! Qiao said.
The two kept looking around to see any sign of Jin. They could not find him. Suddenly the door flew open again.
“Who are you and what are you doing here?” a voice angrily asked.
Yue Qiao was going to ask him if he was Yue Jin, but before she could Ren interjected with “We are your cousins, Yue Ren and Yue Qiao! And just what are you gonna do about it?” Qiao grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back scolding her the whole while.
“Wait, … so are you Nan’s daughters?” Jin asked.
“Yes sir.” Yue Qiao said.
Jin ran up to the two and wrapped them both in his arms and said, “Oh girls! I thought that Dong Zhuo had gotten you as well” He seemed to be showing a little too much emotion for being a cousin that they had never met. This threw Yue Qiao's mind into a state of confusion. Her mind would soon be soothed though as her sister, yet again, could not hold her tongue.
“Why do you care so much?” Ren asked
Jin replied while stumbling over his words” Well I … I …what I mean to say is that … we are family after all aren’t we?”
The room was dark but Qiao still noticed a tear beading down Yue Jin’s face. She now knew that there was something that Jin was not telling them. Later that evening, she decided she would get to the bottom of this. When Ren went to sleep she went to talk to Jin. She asked him if there was something he was not telling them and he said, “Can’t get anything past you can I? Just like your mother.” Then she knew. Yue Jin, not Yue Nan was her real father. She asked him why he left Her and her sister with Yue Nan to which he replied, “ Your mother died shortly after Yue Ren was born, and I knew that without her I could never give you what you truly deserved so I sent you to live with my cousin, Yue Nan and told him and his wife to not breathe a word of this to you two, and I see that he kept true to his word.” So many emotions rushed through her head. She wanted to be mad at him but she knew that he had a good reason for doing what he had done and yet at the same time she felt sorry for him for knowing that out there somewhere was his two daughters, and that he would rarely get to see them. He told Yue Qiao not to mention it to Yue Ren. He wanted her to not have her love swayed for his sake. Qiao may have just met him, but, somehow, she felt like she had known him her whole life. She was glad to know that she still had a father, but could not forget what Yue Nan had given to herself and her sister.
